Our Site 2021

Cheviot Glamping is a small landscaped glamping site featuring for Summer / Autumn 2021:

From November2021 to April 2022 the Bell Tents will be removed from site and stored over the winter months. During this time the site will only operate Friday to Sunday with guests able to stay for 3 nights over the weekend in the Pods which are centrally heated so suitable for stays all year around. During this time the site facilities block may not be available.

During this period (November 2021-April 2022) the site will be undergoing some reconfiguration to add more Glamping Pods to the site and develop new exciting accommodation options onsite using existing disused buildings.

Note that during this time construction work will be happening onsite however this will be kept to a minimum over the weekend whilst guests are onsite so as not to disturb our guests,

Pitching Your Own Tent

As a small site, sadly we do not have the space or facilities to accommodate guests who wish to pitch their own tent, we only offer serviced accommodation options that we provide in full.

Camper vans & Caravans

At present we do not offer camper van and caravan hook ups or overnight stays. We are planning to develop some pitches for campervan and caravans adjacent to our car park for future seasons but this facility is not available during 2021.

Car Parking

Only one vehicle is permitted in the site car park per accommodation unit without prior arrangement.

Cheviot Alpacas

Our Alpacas, Hops, Malt and Porter live onsite at the far end of the Glamping Site and are often kept in the pen near the Tap bar when Alpaca Trekking experiences are booked. The Alpacas graze the grass within their enclosures but also are kept on a strict nutritional diet of food specifically designed for Camelids such as Alpacas

They are friendly but often shy so please treat them with care and respect and do not tease or intentionally scare them. They do not spit and are quiet and gentle creatures.

A failure to comply with these rules regards the Alpacas may result in guests being asked to leave the site, without refund.

Using Cheviot Tap

Guests are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the facilities of our onsite tap bar. Please note that only food and drink purchased at the tap bar can be consumed within the tap bar seating areas.

You are of course allowed to bring your own food and drink onto site to consume within the Glamping site,

Food and drink may be purchased at the Tap bar to be consumed on the Glamping site but please bring any glasses or plates back to the bar.

For those wishing to enjoy our Pizza nights please book a table or book for a pizza at the earliest opportunity by emailing

Cheviot Brewery Site

Please be aware that Cheviot Glamping is adjacent to the site of a working brewery, Cheviot Brewery, who have been making Northumbrian Ales in Slainsfield since 2018. Whilst the brewery team will make every effort to not make excessive noise it is a working beer production facility so you should be aware that noise can and does happen. Most activity at the brewery happens during the week between 8am and 6pm.

Guests are not permitted to enter the brewery unless on an organised brewery tour. This is for your own health and safety and to allow the brewery to ensure it can go about its production un disturbed. Brewing involves high temperatures and stringent cleaning processes so please do not approach the site when activity is happening and ensure that all children are aware that the brewery building and yards are strictly out of bounds.

If you have questions or are interested in the brewery our team at Cheviot Glamping and Cheviot Tap are happy to answer any questions, and of course please sample the breweries ales at Cheviot Tap & pubs around Northumberland.

Slainsfield Wood

Around the edge of the site and to the side of Cheviot Tap is Slainsfield Wood. This are is not part of our site and is private property at no time are guests permitted to enter these woods. Children must not play in these woods as there are fenced off areas where disused mineshaft entrances can be found. The woods are private property and not a playground.

There are lots of lovely walks and areas to explore on Etal Moor just a very short walk from our Glamping site which guests are welcome to enjoy. These areas may contain livestock so please close gates, respect the livestock and follow the countryside code.

The Ford and Etal Estate (within which Cheviot Brewery and Glamping is situated) have lots of walks, cycling routes and other outdoor activities to enjoy. To take a look and find walking maps to download visit:
