A ROOM WITH A BREW – Introducing Cheviot Glamping

Cheviot Brewery will open its own glamping site in late May/early June 2021. Glamping offers the joy of camping with the comforts of home, without the worry of forgetting your tent poles.

The site, opposite the brewery and adjacent to the brewery’s onsite tap bar Cheviot Tap, will launch with 6 bell tents and 2 bespoke designed glamping pods created from up-cycled shipping containers.

The pods have been designed by the brewery’s head brewer feature a kitchenette, en-suite shower room and double bunk beds meaning they are very comfortable for a family of four. Whilst the site will launch in 2021 with 2 of these pods the site will add to these for the 2022 season.

Bell Tents have plush double beds and optional additional beds to sleep 4. They are comfortably furnished with all bedding and towels provided.

Cheviot Glamping will add to the development of Cheviot Brewery to becoming a brewery resort. “From the first moment we visited what is now our brewery site on the Ford and Etal estate, we knew we had a great opportunity to create a destination brewery” explains Head Brewer Jonathan Hodgson, the architect of the new glamping site. “We made the first steps towards that last summer when we opened Cheviot Tap, our onsite tap bar, which proved instantly popular .”

Cheviot Glamping is located besides Cheviot Tap – the Brewery’s onsite Tap Bar.

Site manager Ellie Bain explains the appeal of Cheviot Glamping; “whilst glamping continues to grow in popularity, Cheviot Glamping is pretty unique as there aren’t many with an onsite bar serving award winning cask ale brewed on the site. Whether you are into real ale or not, our site is a peaceful retreat, well placed for hiking, cycling and the history and attractions of North Northumberland. Our site is perfect for families and fully dog friendly.”

The site also boasts a trio of furry residents. Three alpacas; Hops, Malt and Porter; collectively known as the Cheviot Alpacas, have moved into a paddock on the campsite. Visitors will be able to take part in alpaca experiences, and from the summer, weekly alpaca trekking experiences will be available.

With fresh cask ale, a stunning location and a trio of alpacas, Cheviot Brewery believe that Cheviot Glamping will offer visitors a holiday to remember.

Bookings will open and an official opening date announcement will be made in late April.
